| There is a new Tejano Music artist making a
splash in the Tejano Muisc Industry. Some are calling Laura
Lopez a breath of fresh talent, while others are putting her
vocals with the likes of Laura Canales. The debut CD entitled
"De Que Estoy Hecha" has radio stations and fans
raving over Laura Lopez y Jade.
Will this new Tejano female talent capture the hearts of Tejano fans waiting
for something to happen in Tejano Music? Look no further,
Laura Lopez is a true vocalist.
Guest musicians on the compact disc were George Ochoa,
Gilbert "Chore" Lopez, Jr., Oscar Hernandez, and
Daven Martinez.
The first offical single released off the CD is "De
Que Estoy Hecha" which was written by Rafael Ferro
& Roberto Livi.
We spoke with Ricardo Hernandez, Bookings Manager for the
band, He informed us of the timing of the CD release was
planned for he Thanksgiving Holiday week. To capture Tejano
fans at the right moment. I recall receiving notice a few
months ago about Laura Lopez working on the project and
but had not heard mention of the CD release. To my surprise
on the actual release date, the CD arrived here at Tejano
Magazine main office.
We took a listen to Laura Lopez' Cd and came up with an
instant impression "International Talent". Those
words have not been uttered since Selena, Laura Canales
or Vikki Carr. A true blue Tejana with a voice of international
implications.
Are we hinting that Laura Lopez is the next Tejano artist
to someday make it big? There is only one way to find out.
Take a listen to her music and be your own judge. But as
far as this court is concerned, Laura Lopez has our judgment
as "a breath of fresh Tejano talent:", something
needed in Tejano Music.
